ANARKIA TROPIKAL

Anarkia Tropikal was born in 2005 in Santiago, Chile. It is said by many that they were the first band to combine Cumbia with Punk Rock, however, they do not think so. Joe Strummer (The Clash) used to listen to Andres Landeros (Colombian Cumbia player), which shows that Cumbia and Punk have a love affair before we came along” - Anarkia Tropikal. This band combines Afro-American sounds as well as Psychedelic and Colombian cumbia, cumbia Villera, Ska, Dub, Chicha, Salsa, and also other rhythms and styles such as Punk, Hardcore, Post Punk, Surf Rock and New Wave. As result, we have a band full of energy, strength and joy, which joins the feeling of carnival the social commitment as its essence in their proposal.Their most recent LP “Tropikaliptico” has recieved unanimous praise among fans and critics, even being nominated to “Premios Pulsar”, the most important music awards in Chile, for “Best Tropical Record of the Year”
