"Die Band ist meine zweite Familie" - so hörte man Joe Zawinul oft über sein Syndicate schwärmen. Sowohl musikalische als auch menschliche Vertrautheit untereinander waren von Beginn an und sind nach wie vor Basis und Fundament des Syndicate. Der Gründer gab der Kontinuität der Besetzung und der Harmonie der einzelnen Mitglieder einen sehr hohen Stellenwert weshalb es diesem Ensemble auch gelang, einen einzigartigen und grenzübergreifenden Stil zu schaffen, der von einem durchdringenden Groove und improvisatorischer Leichtigkeit geprägt ist. Mit den aktuellen Konzerten kommen die großartigen und erprobten Musiker dem Wunsch Joe Zawinuls nach, dieses Ensemble auch nach seinem Tod weiterleben zu lassen und haben sich gemeinsam verpflichtet, die Gedanken des Gründers in ihrer Weise weiterzuführen.
